Produced to Demeter standards.
What is the difference between biodynamic and organic? Biodynamic standards are designed to enhance the vitality of the produce and are therefore stricter about the origin of Demeter licensed ingredients. Here's an example from issue 60 of the Soil Association [organic] Certification News (Autumn 2007):
"We have updated the natural flavour and GM declaration forms, and can now accept flavouring ingredients that may have been made with enzymes derived from GM organisms."
Biodynamic - more than organic!
If you want to see the special vitality in biodynamic grains - try the following test: Soak and sprout biodynamic grains on a fruit day and try sprouting organic grains at the same time. Whenever we try this we find that the organic grains sprout to about 60-80% - the biodynamic grains sprout 100%.
